AI Credits & Pricing: How AI Usage Is Billed

AI runs on its own credit balance#

AI features are powered by a dedicated AI credit balance, separate from your WhatsApp and Email credits. The balance is held in US dollars — $1 of AI credit is $1 of AI usage.

How AI is priced#

There’s no flat fee per summary or per message. AI is billed by usage: each AI action costs based on how much text the AI reads and writes, and that cost is deducted from your AI balance. Longer records, longer conversations, and more detailed summaries therefore cost a little more; short ones cost less.

💡
Because it’s usage-based, there’s no fixed price list — you top up a dollar balance and each AI action draws down what it actually uses. Every charge is recorded so you can review it.

What uses AI credits#

  • Record & deal summaries (generating or re-summarising)
  • WhatsApp conversation summaries and Inbox Intelligence questions
  • The “Help me write” reply assistant in the WhatsApp inbox
  • AI Agent chat replies (website widget, WhatsApp autopilot)
  • AI lead qualification (billed as part of the WhatsApp reply it runs on)
💡
Only actions that call the AI cost credits. Simply viewing a summary someone already generated is free; re-summarising generates a fresh one and uses credits.

Add AI credits (top up)#

Buy AI credits from Billing & Subscription — the same place you buy WhatsApp and Email credits. Choose a dollar amount for the AI channel (any amount from $1 up to $5,000 per purchase) and pay by card. The amount is added straight to your AI balance.

You can also switch on Auto-Recharge so your balance tops up automatically when it runs low — see Billing & Subscription.

Check your balance#

Your AI, WhatsApp, and Email balances all appear in Billing & Subscription, along with a daily usage report and a top-up history.

When you run out#

If your AI balance reaches zero, AI actions stop with “You’re out of AI credits.” — top up to resume. A blocked action isn’t charged, so you never pay for something that didn’t run. The account owner also gets an email alert as the balance runs low, so you can top up before it stops.

💡
There is no free AI allowance — a paid plan lets you use AI, but you still add credits to pay for the usage. See Turn On AI Summaries for the full enablement checklist.
