API Keys: Build Custom Integrations
Where to manage API keys#
When an integration you need isn’t in the catalog, you can build your own against the Public REST API. Open Settings → Developer Hub → API Keys — the home for Personal Access Tokens, usage tracking, and quota alerts.
Three tabs organize everything: Keys (your tokens), Usage (calls against your quota), and Alerts (quota warnings).
Generate a key#
Click Generate API key and configure the token:
- Label — a name so you remember what the key is for (e.g. "Zapier integration").
- Scopes — grant only what the app needs, per module and action (
crm.contacts.read,crm.deals.write, and so on). Read and Write are independent — granting Write does not grant Read. - Expires — Never, or 30 days / 90 days / 1 year / 2 years.
⚠️
The full token is shown once, right after you generate it — copy it immediately and store it somewhere safe. You cannot see it again. Revoked or deleted keys can be recovered for 90 days.
Plans & quotas#
ℹ️
API access is a premium feature. If your plan doesn’t include it, the page shows an upgrade prompt instead of the tabs. Growth and higher plans unlock daily and monthly call quotas, full module coverage, and the usage dashboard.
